Mr. Dobrescu emigrated from Romania in 1985. He went on to serve in the military in the United States from 1991 to 2005. Mr. Dobrescu graduated from the Gretna Police Academy in 1998 and went on to work for the Plaquemines and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Offices in  a variety of investigative positions.  Mr. Dobrescu graduated from University of New Orleans in 2000, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History.  Mr. Dobrescu was inspired by his own immigrant background and desire to help fellow immigrants to pursue a career in Law and he went on to graduate from the Loyola University School of Law in 2003.

Mr. Dobrescu represents clients in immigration and criminal law.  Being an immigration lawyer is a highly specialized endeavor.  A thorough understanding of the law in general as well as a grasp and fluency in the areas of immigration, citizenship, employment and criminal law sets Mr. Dobrescu apart in his field of expertise.  Mr. Dobrescu finds the job of an immigration lawyer  very fulfilling as it assists others to achieve their dream of obtaining U.S. citizenship just as he was able to obtain his.  Mr. Dobrescu’s experience in law enforcement has given him a special outlook and expertise on dealing with immigrants with criminal entanglements and is able to specifically serve those immigrants that have criminal matters as an obstacle to their immigration case.

Mr. Dobrescu is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, Jefferson Bar Association  and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.  He continues to serve with the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office.
